"I am actually shocked at some of the anonymous comments that are posted online," Murphy said in a news release issued late on Wednesday. "Some are hateful, many times untrue, and potentially defamatory.

Murphy did not identify any particular story or comments but expressed a more general concern.

"The law is clear and it is just a matter of time before both the media organizations and the actual writers of some of these comments end up on the wrong side of an expensive and costly defamation suit."

Murphy said commenters cannot hide from the law, referring to recent cases in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick where courts ordered the release of identifying information of anonymous authors of comments.

"I believe there is a mistaken view out there that the internet is the Wild West, and the law that applies to magazines and television and does not apply," he said.

Murphy expressed surprise that both the Guardian and CBC still allow comments to be made anonymously. While supporting free speech, Murphy said people should have the courage to, and be forced, to disclose their identities.

Charlottetown police will meet with the organizers of this year's Shinerama fundraiser over concerns that it became dangerous earlier this week.

Police received several complaints from motorists who were stopped by UPEI students participating in Shinerama, whom police described as too enthusiastic.

"Kids have become a bit more aggressive and caught up in the moment, and now they're actually travelling out on the travel portion of the highways to gather up donations," said deputy chief Gary MacGuigan.

"They're walking out between vehicles so it's become unsafe."

One day this week UPEI students raised more than $26,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The students told CBC News they didn't see a problem with going out on to the street.

"P.E.I. drivers are very kind," said one.

"They do understand that this is Shinerama, they know it means we're going back to school. It happens every year. So as I said, we try our best to be as safe as we can, but we do go into traffic."

MacGuigan said there are other groups that do road-side fund raisers, but in those cases, the road is either closed, or the groups have safety gear like reflective vests and pylons.

Tracey Adams, manager of special events with the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, said the students aren't supposed to go on the road.

"There are excited students out there and we can't control everything at 65 locations across Canada," said Adams.

"They are trained over and over again - at several conferences, manuals and stuff like that - they're not to lean over, not to pass boxes across streets, not to go into intersections."

As the "PEI Beer Guy", I have started "P's and Q's". It's the exploration for, and reviews of, beer by an Islander (who therefore has less selection than much of the world). As the "PEI Beer Guy", I have started "P's and Q's". It's the exploration for, and reviews of, beer by an Islander (who therefore has less selection than much of the world). I want to popularize and push new-to-Islander craft beers, and become a resource for learning about such brews and beer in general.

This isnt a movie for a regular date dont get me wrong. if you go make sure its with the guys lol or one girl who doesnt mind some blood.

Sure the story isn't the greatest but and maybe the acting can be better but its just fun! Its funny(there was quite a few LOL moments in it), action packed and there is a lot of hot babes lol
