As of this writing, Canada has 10 Gold medals! More than any country!

Our total is 21 medals....the US has 34...hmmm, proportionately speaking, they have about 250 million population, we have about 134 million.

We have indeed owned the podium!

And gold medal count is what the IOC uses to determine the official rankings of an Olympic games. :D

Actually 33 gold medals.

There were 18 hockey players, 4 curlers and 2 bobsledders. Gives us another 21 medals.

Here's how the tally works as of this morning based on number of actual medals given out (number of medalists). There are cases where the number of gold, silver and bronze for a specific event don't match up - a four man team that gave out 5 medals if they swapped out someone in the tournament. Even if USA gets hockey gold that'll only bring their total count up to 33.

I guess this shows we're awesome at team sports.

Code:
Country             Gold  Silver Bronze  Total
Australia (AUS)      2      1      0        3
Austria (AUT)       11      9      6       26

I'd simply say that the medal count reflects the fact that Canada finishes number one pretty well and the US is REALLY good at coming in 3rd...lol...seriously though a wonderful hockey game and both sides should be proud of the level of play overall. Go Canada!

Really? That's awesome. Were they working/volunteering or just there for the games?
